Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 30, 2026
This policy describes the current Exelidoc browser extension, website, and separately distributed Office add-in preview. Exelidoc is an in-development service; features and data practices may change as it develops.
Information we process
- Email address, account identifier, session token, subscription status, and plan tier.
- Request counts and AI usage records used to operate accounts and enforce plan limits.
- Text, document selections, and instructions you choose to submit to the Exelidoc panel.
- Payment and billing details handled by Stripe. Exelidoc does not receive your full card number.
How text is used
When you click Ask, the text and instruction you submit are sent to the Exelidoc backend and configured AI provider to generate a response. The backend also writes request diagnostics to its service logs. The AI provider may process or retain requests under its own terms and settings. Exelidoc does not promise that submitted text is immediately erased from provider or service logs.
Browser storage
The extension stores your account session token and email locally in Chrome or Edge extension storage so it can associate requests with your account. Anyone with access to your signed-in browser profile may be able to use that session.
Payments
Paid subscriptions use Stripe Checkout. Stripe processes payment details and sends subscription events to Exelidoc so the account plan can be updated. See Stripe's privacy policy for its data practices.
Sharing and service providers
Information is shared with the backend host, database provider, AI provider, and Stripe as needed to provide Exelidoc, maintain accounts, process requests, and bill subscriptions. These providers have their own terms and privacy practices.
Retention and deletion
Account and subscription records are retained to operate the service. Request-usage records are kept for plan limits and service operations. Submitted text may appear in backend diagnostics and may be handled according to the AI provider's retention settings. There is currently no self-service account deletion; contact the project owner through the project repository to request deletion.
Security and beta limitations
Use a unique, private email for the beta. Email ownership is not currently verified, and existing-account recovery is not available. Do not submit sensitive or confidential information unless you are authorized and comfortable with the providers' data practices.
Contact
For privacy requests or questions, open an issue in the Exelidoc project repository.
Exelidoc is still in development and uses free-tier services. Response times and availability can vary.
